Hello, my name is Mr. Tax. Mr. Income Tax, to be specific. Do you like paying income taxes to the federal government, to your state government, and to the local governments in your area? Of course, you don't. No one does. And in fact, the burden and the process are getting more and more complex and burdensome every day. I'm an accountant. I do income tax returns. And every time Congress tries to make things better and easier, to make things less complicated, they do just the opposite. In fact, they make my job more complicated. But it also gives me more job security. If you'd like to complain about income taxes, the IRS, or any other governmental organization involved with income tax, send me an email. I'm collecting emails to pass along to Washington DC, to complain about our income tax system. What's my email address? It's mooneyfox@yahoo.com. Or, you can email me at buandfatca@yahoo.com. For example, this year, to make things easier, we've added a new schedule to our 1040 called Schedule L. This schedule is used by those people who can't quite qualify for itemized deductions but do pay real estate tax. A portion of the real estate tax may be deducted from their income via Schedule L. The same goes for people who may have purchased a car and paid sales tax or excise tax in 2009. So, does that sound easy? Does that sound simple? Nope. One more example of complication. If you'd like my help with income tax planning and the legal and proper presentation of income tax returns, email me at booniefafsa@yahoo.com. Thanks.
