Instructions and Help about Can Form 1120 Schedule M 3 Attach

Colin actually asked, "Is it okay to fold my tax return and put it in the envelope to Mel?" He's worried about that being a stupid question. There are no stupid questions when it comes to the IRS. I always talk about the logic behind IRS rules, and using the word "logic," what the IRS has always been cumbersome. This means there are no bad questions, so Colin, certainly, you can fold the tax return to get it into that envelope. The only unique thing that the IRS has, which may be kind of on the silly side, is that if you do have to pay with your tax return, they give you a little coupon that you can actually pay that tax with. They don't want to eat or staple your check to the tax return. So even if you have to fold the tax return when you put all that stuff in one envelope, leave that payment voucher and the check loose in the envelope. I think that's because they don't want to hurt their fingernails when they have to pull that stuff off at the IRS. But anyway, don't staple those things, but it's totally okay to fold the return and put it in the envelope. And not a stupid question, by the way.
